OK, look, point taken, you can tell us about 1,000,000,000,000 people that are interested in this, but it will not really matter until there is (at the least) an issue to track the status of this feature request. You may file one at http://crbug.com. And, actually, the situation is pretty simple.The Chrome developers are currently working on higher priority features like the whole extensions system (and a lot of other features, obviously, or a Mac and Linux version), so this feature must have been set aside.
If you want to try and develop it (or get people to do it), this is exactly the place to ask. There are Chrome developers in this group, even lots of them. Post an offer to help with developing the native Greasemonkey functions and I am sure some of the developers will tell you whether it is a good\feasible idea or something they do not plan to support natively. If this code change is not small, you will better have a design document written to support it, that way you will also get some feedback prior to starting the massive development round. State your intentions, a general direction of implementation and get some feedback regarding the rest.
