Intro: Screen Resolutions pushing 2000 pixels or more, many people
have 2 monitors hooked up at all times, but do any web browsers take
advantage of this? The answer is No, and I'm going to explain how
Google Chrome can become the first, along with several advantages that
makes this sound revolutionary.
Old Technology Problem: You are searching through Google Search
Results, you are clicking on links and keep hitting the back button
because you can not find exactly what you are looking for. This takes
time and you start to get upset after hitting the back button 20 times
(or More) and still are not finding what you want. How can Web
Browsers(a.k.a Google Chrome) make finding what you want on the web
faster and easier?
New Technology Solution: Google Chrome Dual View, I'm going to stick
with multiple monitors as my main target so you can better
understand. Google shows you the search results(in .11223 seconds,
thats not going to get any faster) now its up to Google Chrome Dual
View to let you search through the results faster and heres how. You
click on a link and instead of opening over top your search results it
opens into a full screen separate window on the other monitor(Dual
View). If dual view is open it acts as a "dummy" browser, therefore
any link you open up on your main monitor would open up in the Dual
Browser("dummy"). This means it could be used for more than Google's
Search Results but I'm trying to get Google interested in this idea
and with Google Chrome Dual View more people would use the browser
along with using Google Search(how Google makes money). Once you find
the result you want you simply drag the Dual Page back into a tab or
by a hot key.
Side Notes: This is completely different than right clicking a link
and selecting 'open in new window' this is creating a link so only one
more new window has to be opened for all links. When the Dual View is
closed Google Chrome runs like it always does fast, single screen, but
full of awesome. With the higher screen resolutions you can actually
get two full webpages side by side on one monitor therefore you could
get dual view to work on one monitor still if two monitors is not
present.
Finally: Thank you for reading this, if you made it this far I'm
guessing you think it is a good idea also. I am a programmer
experienced in C++ and Java however I do not mess with other people's
open source, but if you want a flowchart/pseudo code or anything that
could help you complete this future browser or any other ideas to go
along with Google Chrome Dual View leave a post. Thanks again, may
Google rule the computer world one day!
