Not sure it's the case that it's only available on Linux versions of Chromium Browser in regards to CTRL-F. It seems way to integrated (graphics and all) to be part of the GTK native environment such as in text editors, nautilus etc. . . Usually what happens is a little text box will appear at the bottom left (or even sometimes upper right) of the screen you're typing in. This is not the case for Chromium on Linux (I'm on Arch Linux). The Ctrl-F feature searches all characters and highlights all the ones that match with different colors.
