I have a vague recollection of reading somewhere that there was supposed to have been a Churchill look-alike who boarded the same plane as Leslie Howard and that this was thought to have been the reason that the plane was shot down. I can't check on this while at my office but I sort of thought that it was mentioned in Churchill's WWII memoirs.

He got to meet Franco, but his plane was shot down by the Luftwaffe when returning to Britain. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/spain/3144604/Actor-Leslie-Howard-kept-Spain-out-of-WWII-claims-author.html Jim Lancaster --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ChurchillChat" group.
