Check the Acorn catalog on line; enter item #15500 to see a color reproduction print of WSC seated in front of the British flag (with the "Never, never, never..." quote superimposed). The framed 19" print is from Rosenstiel's London.
You will see: Tie: Navy blue with white dots; Shirt: white; Coat: charcoal gray with white handkerchief in breast pocket; Pants: charcoal gray with lighter gray stripes; Waist coat: appears darker than the charcoal coat - may be Navy blue or solid black. Waist coat has gold watch chain. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Shaney Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2012 7:19 AM To: ChurchillChat Subject: [ChurchillChat] Colour photos of Sir Winston Churchill Hello everyone, Does anyone know where I might specifically find colour photographs of Sir Winston? I am having a small white metal figure painted of Sir Winston Churchill and am unsure of which colours to advise the painter. Many searches show black and white photos or prints that seem to have been doctored with colour. One such doctored photo shows Sir Winston clearly wearing a blue bowtie with white spots. However, the suit is less clear and also looks like a very dark blue when I assumed it would be charcoal so I question if this blue is correct. My figure however has Sir Winston wearing a waistcoat and tie! I assume this tie would be his Consevative blue but what about the waistcoat? If anyone can help I will be very appreciative. Thank you.
