Whose Breguet wore Churchill? Contradictory information is available on this account. In Churchill's museum (London) presents Breguet no 765 with this statement: “Churchill wore this gold Breguet watch, no 765, which is visible in the famous Karsh portrait of him taken 1941. The watch was originally made by A.L. Breguet in 1818 for Churchill's ancestor, the 4thDuke of Marlborough”. In Barry Singer book Churchill Style (p. 119) is the photo of the same watch with another statement: “In 1928 Churchill brought another watch – a Breguet first purchased in 1890 by his cousin, the Duke of Marlborough. A model 765”. Who is right? And to whom Churchill's watch belongs first – the 4th Duke, or 9th Duke?
