I would love to read Piers Brendon's book, when it does come out!

I hope it includes the story of the phone conversation between Churchill 
and Field Marshal Alanbrooke--when Churchill was laying in bed and wiggling 
his toe, and his cat bit it.   And Churchill yells out, *'Get off, you 
bloody fool!!'--*and Alanbrooke hangs up the phone, thinking HE was the 
'bloody fool'!!   

Churchill loved cats mostly, did he not?   I remember reading there was a 
cat keeping him company in his final days at Hyde Park Gate.
