Hmm? No. Access controls are applied at the server - in the file system, actually. You can't circumvent them. If the non-Windows system uses SMB to look at the files, it's indistinguishable from a Windows system. If it uses NFS, the same access controls are still used. For that matter, even for local access the same access controls are used. (Local "root" overrides, of course.)
