Usually, I want the pictures to be displayed 5 seconds. But displaying
them for 1 second by default would at least allow everyone to select the
picture without any problem. 1 frame is just to difficult to select!

 It is not difficult to select if you zoom in on the timeline.
However, the timeline scaling setting takes a while for the new
user to discover, too.  Basically, it takes time and effort to
get up to speed with Cinelerra's user interface.  There is no
easy fix for that, but we could improve it: For example, there
are no tooltips for the selectors and the indicators at the
bottom of the timeline window.
