i'd like to avoid re-encoding the whole thing all over again, so i guess 
exporting the
video and audio separetly and multiplexing them later is the best option.

i'm guessing i can use mencoder to do the job? what is a popular tool for 
multiplexing?

no problem, i looked at their features and they seem to be able to do what i 
need (though they don't seem to support animated background or animated 
buttons).

nice, thats what i wanted to hear :)

i'll have to start reading some tutorials first...


PS:
one more question, does cinelerra support importing existing DVDs (loading the 
VOB file)? I sometimes like to add some "sequel" clips from previous holidays 
that are already on DVD.
