My version of Cinelerra does not recognise .jpg and .png extentions for some
reason. For still images, it only recognises .ifo and one other. I have
attempted loading .jpg and .png stills as all files, but they fail to load.
The extension renaming method for .png seems to work fine for Cinelerra, so I
really have nothing to complain about. I just thought I'd mention this because
the manual is not specific. It's possible that the Cinelerra that I'm using is
just plain screwy.

Why are you renaming any kind of still image file to .ifo? That extension
is for DVD metadata; I would strongly suggest that you leave your .jpg
files named .jpg and your .png files named .png.
