Personally, I have the goal to get all those curve displays united.
I want to treat fade, camera, projector, zoom, crossfades and all the
plugin parameters by one united "parameter curve" view and editor.
The problem will be how to organize all these big number of different
curves. Partially, the display as overlayed curves is helpful, partially
it is confusing. But having lots of separate automation tracks (e.g.
like in Ardour) can be confusing too. Quite a challenge for the UI
design.
Maybe a way to toggle the view of the filter-parameter's graph? Like a
little checkbox next to each parameter in the effect-dialog. Or maybe
that's way too controlling the effect-plugin-writers (and will make it
harder to integrate foreign effects, like frei0r)?

My thinking with this thread was that I would like to see this new
Cinelerra keep its artsy feel. Premeire is a good program works well
but to me it feels mechanical. So in that light I hope that in rewriting
and improving, that Cinelerrra or what ever name it goes by does not
loose the feel of a video editing program for the artist. I kind of
feel that it might be a good thing that someone might be responsible to
keep an eye on that aspect of the program. I am not suggesting that
anyone wants to in some way turn it into some kind of bits and bytes
kind of thing. It;s origines was I think more from a, it'a a
filmakers program point of view rather than it's better code as
compared to some other program. This might be to some degree what it
seems to have stopped really progessing ?? There must be hundreds of
improvements that can be made that would in some ways make it an easyier
program to use. In so doing I just hope it does not loose its feel.
Please don't anyone think that I am suggesting that the program is in
danger of being watered down in this respect but someone should be
watching and pointing to any tendancy toward a different direction.
