It would need to be more granular than that. IP options and a number of other things get software switched and a number of them already have specific knobs. Better would be 'ip cef overflow software-switching [off|longest-prefixes|shortest-prefixes|last-learned]'. Hopefully the new cef compression code will free up quite a bit of fib space and basically solve the problem.

And the punt counters are pretty comprehensive, not to mention debug options that can describe the situation pretty verbosely.
