Dear Group,
As many of you might be aware, I put myself on a schedule to upgrade my
certification.
For about 2 and a half months now I've taken the CMTD, CLSC, ACRC and now
the Support 2.0 exam.
So now I'm a CCNP!
I hesitated somewhat to take the new Support 2.0 as I had studied materials
for the CIT. But after carefully reviewing some of the comments on this
list I chose to take a chance.
I used the following materials to prepare for CIT/Support:
CIT - Exam Cram by Matthew Luallen
Read cover to cover. More than the title suggests. Lots of details on what
is going on, not just memorization.
CIT - Cisco Press
Read cover to cover as this is the reference!
CIT - CCNP Study Guide , Syngress.
Read half the book, used the supplied test on the CD.
CIT - CCNP Exam Notes by Kevin Hales/Todd Lammle
Sorry, didn't even crack this one open. (I think I over-reacted to how hard
everyone was saying this exam was and I bought too many books).
Boson CIT 1 exam
Gets you in the swing of things.
CCO - CCIE sample questions
CertificationZone - Sample Test
The Section Analysis for the exam from my score report is:
Connectionless Models
HDLC
IOS backups
Troubleshooting
Truthfully, I just completed the exam - like 2 hours ago and I can't make
hide n'or hare (???) of where HDLC and IOS backups were..........
My experience is a bit different than a previous poster's. It was mentioned
that there were between 60 and xxx (forget what) questions with a passing
score that was also variable.
Pass is 692 out of the range 300-1000.
I had 61 questions. That number was told to me at the beginning and that's
what I got. So I don't think the exam is adaptive from that viewpoint.
And........... the most difficult thing was trying to figure out just what
the hell was being asked. But we've heard that many times for other tests.
However, the answers are very good, not many obvious gimme's at all.
And most of all thanks to Groupstudy The wealth of information and people
willing to share that info cannot have a value placed on it. This group is
incredible.
Haven't finished yet, will now take a stab at completing the CCDP before
swearing off books for the summer. Might take the FRS 2.0 when it goes live
to make myself a full version 2.0 CCNP/CCDP.
