The ip default-gateway command is for routers that do not have ip routing
enabled and that is it!!  So basically if you were using a router as a
terminal you would need it.  You need some sort of default route to get out
and about...

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 216.140.186.250 (if this is the gaetway, I mean you
don't know so how would we??)
