Yes, you need what is called a MAU or Multistation Access Unit.

I have two on eBay that I am selling. They are both IBM 8228's and are in
perfect condition.

You will also need some cables to connect it all together. Sorry, but I am
still using all mine. But, if you do a search on eBay under the networking
category for "Token Ring", you will find everything else that you need. You
might also want to consider getting a couple of TR NIC cards so that you can
put a few PC's on the ring.
