for back up, use a tftp server - any download site has one for free.
for managing, configure snmp in the routers/switches and find "Router IP
Console" in www.innerdive.com, it's trial for 30 days. I think it's good
when working with snmp.

Or, if you want spend money, buy the CiscoWorks 2000, hehe.
