Hi! Can anyone advise whether it is possible to use 2 x DTE Cables to get 2 Routers talking to each other Back-to-Back. Maybe provide an X21 Crossover cable or Breakout Box in between. Or do the DTE cables do something funny to the Serial ports that stops the clocking or something like that to get through. Is there no other way to get the Routers running back-to-back other than using the DCE cable ? We have tons of X21 DTE cables sitting around at work but someone would have to pay for DCE cables for the makeshift lab at work.
