I am a reltively thorough person and I had tried this b4 i sent the post. yahoo
messenger just spent forever trying to connect. I checked the yahoo site and
they said they were developing firewall support.
so what say we all consider the msn thing. I gave yahoo about an hour to
connect. fair guy aint I.

Yahoo messenger can be configured to work behind a firewall (it uses port
80).
1-Edit Menu
2-Preferences
3-Connection
4-Select "Firewall with no Proxies" option.
