This is probably for a cable modem or DSL setup where you aren't assigned a
static address.  You can use a 2 ethernet router to obtain an address for
one interface and connect to the other where you nat to the outside ethernet
address.

if so ..
why ?
How are you ever going to telnet into that box ?
Remember the router's ethernet address is the desktop PC's gateway .
you cant chop & change that every now & then hey ?

I want an Ethernet interface on a router to get it's IP address for DHCP. Is
this possible? How about on a PIX ethernet interface?
