I could be wrong, but I think that you have to use PAP with one-time
password systems like SecurID or SafeWord.

Please, correct me if I am wrong!

When you are using an NT user database to authenticate your dial-in
users
you can't use CHAP because NT will not recognise the encrypted CHAP
password.
