I agree with Jason, they do go hand in hand and I think anyone who has their fingers in both pies has to be better off. One other thing I have observed with certification gathering, I find those that study the Cisco range seem to have a lot better depth of knowledge than those who study just the OS range of certs. The better people I have worked with have certified OS plus Cisco. You have one or two of those guys on the floor and there is not much they can't take care of.
