If I enable any vlan interface other than vlan 1 it will not enter an protocol up state unless a physical interface that has vlan 'x' assigned to it. Why is that?
vlan database vlan 2 ! interface FastEthernet0/1 switchport access vlan 2 no shutdown ! interface Vlan2 ip address 2.2.2.2 255.0.0.0 no shutdown If I were to plug a device into interface f0/1, interface vlan 2 will come up/protocol up. I change the access vlan to another vlan, interface vlan 2 will go down. I would appreciate any comments.
