I have implimented 6 router installations using all Ascend Pipeline
equipment and Paragon CSU/DSUs. I have been a full time tech for 5 years. I
have a very high aptitude and strong analytical skills. I recently closed
down my computer business in favor of being an employee instead of an
employer. I have completed the MCSE in 3 1/2 weeks of self study. Granted, I
was very experienced in the Microsoft products before beginning this task. I
am on the CCNA now and should test this week. Most of the information in the
CCNA has been very easily digestable for me. I am preparing a time and
monetery budget for the CCIE portion of my training. I figure I may be able
to get $15k for equipment and 4-8 weeks of study time before the "well"
dries up.

My questions are:

With the information above in mind, how long should I budget to study for
the CCIE if I am not working and studying hardcore all day and every day?
What should I budget for my home lab?
What pieces of equipment should I get?
Will I need 2 ISDN lines?
Am I underestimating the scope of the CCIE and will I need to go ahead and
get a regular job and keep this as a slow long term goal?
If I ditch the CCIE for now, what time/equipment do I need for the CCNP?

Thanks sooooooo much for any help,
Clay Stuckey - MCSE
