... Ethernet is not serial, and dos not require a DCE device to provide clocking. To the original poster: 1. Did you "no shutdown" the ethernet interfaces? 2. Are the interfaces in the same IP subnet, or do they have a route to each other? 3. Do you have a Link light on the ethernet connection at the hub? The cables are supposed to be 3 feet long. In my experience, it doesn't really matter. Post a copy of your config, and/or the results from the "Show interface" command, and we'll try to help. Falling that you'll need another router to be the DCE (which will act as your clocking device). However if each router is connected to a Hub then I would assume the the default gateway on your node PC has not been configured to reach the e0 interface of either router Your routers themselve will not be able to communicate with each other without a DCE Device Good Luck ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stuart Laubstein" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, September 20, 2000 2:57 PM Subject: Connect two cisco with transceivers > I am trying to connect two cisco 2501's together using rj45 cables and a hub > and transceivers in the AUI slots.
