Sundar, I began studies for CCDP (yes, you need both CCDA and CID) after
completion of CCNP.  I just passed the CCDA exam and recommend Top Down
Network Design and Boson.  I didn't find the exam particularly difficult
from a technical perspective.  TDND will give you all of the non-technical
information as well as a refresher on some of the basics.  Boson will help
you get a "feel" for how the DCN test will be formatted.

I believe that completing everything possible before attempting the CCIE
written will only be helpful.  Design may not be specifically added to the
R/S test, but we should know something about this area sooner or later.
That's a real-world perspective.
