You are permitted to bring drawing materials in the lab. I am currently in
San Jose and had day one of my lab today. I brought colored pens and a
template with me. If you check the CCIE power session documentation from
Cisco they recommend that you bring colored pens/pencils.

The troubleshooting section of the R/S section changed several months back.
They have the option of doing either method. You can also review this
information in Cisco's CCIE Power Session.

That RUMOR has been around for a while. I first heard it at Networkers in
Florida.

None of those I know who have taken the lab over the last couple of months
have ever said they have encountered that situation. Of course they may
consider that revealing this falls under the NDA ;->

BTW, one guy I know told me he was allowed to take drawing materials into
the lab - colored pencils, and templates for drawing network devices -
circles, squares, lines, etc. you've probably seen those plastic things
around. I inquired of my Lab contact within Cisco - the lady who schedules
and collects the money, and she said all I could bring was a smile and my
drivers license.

Anyone who has been in the lab lately - do they let you bring in pencils and
templates? I understand and completely agree that one should not be
permitted to bring in paper, even if it is blank.

Chuck

I heard a "rumor" last week that the R/S lab would be changed so that on the
2nd day, rather than troubleshooting the same network the candidate built on
the 1st day, he/she would be intoduced to a DIFFERENT network to debug.
