2. Jon- I agree and most do, to your point as it is a known fact.But what our friend
Jim wants is a plan to convince his VP to get him an aided CCIE training.
Perhaps his company does not have a policy like the one you mentioned in place.

Jim In answer to your question, my company pays 100% for departmentally
related training. For me they paid for my Cisco and Sun training. For non
related training, (anything, any subject), they pay 80% up $4000 per year.
You may need to sign a term of employment agreement were you will be
responsible for repaying a % if you quit within the term.
