i thought the in the foundation exam you have to pass all areas
in order to pass the exam so if you are for say weaker on BCRAN
than switching you would not pass.
(assuming 70 % is pass)
eg 95 % routing
80 % switching
65 % BCRAN = FAIL
75 % routing
75 % switching
75 % BCRAN = PASS

I thought about doing the same, and the idea that weaker subjects would be
averaged out by stronger ones, was a consideration. I decided that, as I was
going to go on to CCIE then I needed to iron out the weaker areas rather
than effectively hide them.
The difficulty of trying to find my strong subjects may also have affected
the decision :-)
At least doing it the long way, I know that I've got a fair spread of
knowledge on all the areas covered by the multiple CCNP exams.
