Hi Group,
Just been studying OSPF this week and have come
accross the 'Cost' metric as being 10^8/bandwidth bps
post 11.3 (bandwidth configured on the interface).
My question is : Using the above equation 10 Meg
Ethernet The Cost is 10 i.e 10^8/10^7.
It then follows that 100 Mbit Eth The Cost is 1 !!!
So it would follow that the cost of 1 Gig interface
would be 0.1 ???
I only have 11.2 in my lab currently and the 'ip ospf
cost' parameter is an integer 16 bit value i.e range
is 1 - 65535.
Has this parameter changed in a later version of IOS ?
Checked Cisco but cannot find relevant info.
Regards,
Phil.
