We are currently trying to deploy Citrix with our client software over the net.
Currently my understanding is:

- client LAN/WAN resources are very minimal, but this depends on the type of software
you are deploying
and what type of resources its using. We will be using just a simple database query on
the server side and Crystal
reports writer on the client side. Basically, all you need on the client side is a
browser that has java applet
enabled and just lots of mem. All the processor work is done at the Citrix server.
- We did not increase our bandwidth (currently oc3 with 10MB committed rate)
- We did not be changing our QOS. B/c we have VOIP running and Video/Data running on
our backbone.
We found that it wasn't really needed.
- Watch out of 16 bit apps, its gets kinda flaky from there., Also watch for internally
developed software....I've
noticed any software that is made by a non software company (Like the one i work for)
always does not fully
test there product before launching it. There might be memory leaks, but the
programmers won't tell you that, until you've restarted
your computer about a dozen times!
