Well- the real answer is that you need about 2 to 5 years in key positions &
these labs should be just a refresher for you :o) If you are like most,
studying for the test sometimes is your first exposure. CCIE boot camps is
very bare bones, no frills. The labs are straight forward, but very
difficult. Basically- the labs force you to begin a long list of WROTE
commands. There are certain portions of the CCIE you are sure to get,
regardless what scenario you are assigned (Frame, ATM, OSPF, BGP, IP
Addressing Plan, Classless into Classfull redistribution). Build a personal
database of these basic commands & allow other portions of the exercises to
bend your mind a little. This should make @ least the first day of the CCIE
lab, very achievable. Lastly- you would either have to rent the lab time or
build one based on their labs. I personally built my lab from the CCIE boot
camps manual. The basic design has just a few more routers than the real
CCIE lab.
