I'm wondering why you say (and another poster) that a 2523 can't be used as
a terminal server?

It has 8 sync/async ports. (as well as 2 sync serial and one TR)

Configure the 8 ports as async (physical-layer async) and with the proper
cable wouldn't it be capable of the same thing??
