Fine but the obvious one is Nortel, but look how many they have fired, Ericsson the same and I've had experience of their Tigress and Congo/Danube etc range. Bad support for a poor product. Extreme are in trouble, Juniper and Foundry very small. 3Com basically out of it and I think must have seen it coming. I am of the opinion you really have to get a wide spread of experience and certifications. Microsoft have come a cropper because the MCSE 2000 is too hard for most established MCSE's and they are failing the exams especially Design. It looks like they will introduce a mid-way type of MCSE that does not have to bother with Design Issues. Much of those bear a striking relationship to CCDA/CCDP. In addition there is talk of a Microsoft/Cisco link with W2K, XP, and IOS having a special links and interactions sets. Food for thought. Novell seems to be losing market ground and therefore the CNA/CNE looks less of a good bet. Security is a good area Checkpoint (53% market share) CCSA/CCSE 2000 looks good and would mix well with knowledge of PIX etc. I think its time to be creative and look elsewhere than just Cisco. Keep em on the back burner still do the studies they will be back but not next week! I know I've had to jump ship a bit and I'm now having to learn HTML as well.....whatever next! Anyone need the car washing?
