You might consider changing to IP and telnet if possible. One thing you need to find out is how the device remote to the server get's it's config from. Some of the older LAT devices get the config from the server as they have no NVRAM or such. I was never able to get Cisco to confirm that the remote device could get its config from the server when the router does translation.
Other than that, I'm no help. :) Scott Meyer CCNA, CCDA, MCSE, etc [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Ryan Cochran Sent: Monday, October 01, 2001 12:44 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Lat to Tcp -- Tcp Lat [7:21581] Hi All, I am new to LAT translation so please bear with me. The scenario I have is 2 routers connected by a serial link. I have a DEC Server on one end and a Client on the other. To my knowledge both the server and the client are run LAT with a service name of SERVICE. Since LAT is not routable I will need to translate from LAT to TCP then TCP to LAT. My question is exactly how do i do this. I have tried using the following translate commands, but am unable to get anything to work. Tried R1- translate lat SERVICE tcp 192.168.1.211 R2- translate lat SERVICE TCP 192.168.1.107 R1 - ----- E0 - 192.168.1.105 DEC Server running LAT 192.168.1.107 R2 - ---- E0 - 192.168.2.209 Client runng LAT 192.168.2.211 Thanks in advance for any help..
