I have been asked this question a lot. My answer is, as with a lot of stuff... It depends. What do you want to do for a living? If you want to do server stuff, desktop support, hell desk, email, general admin and get blamed for everything that goes wrong with the LAN, then pursue the MCSE. If you want to do LAN, WAN, Ethernet, VoIP, pull wires, terminate cables, and get blamed for everything that goes wrong with the email\F&P\password\database, then go after the Cisco stuff. And there is another option....
If you want to get blamed for everything, get both! Nothing carries weight like experience, regardless of certification. If you are a hiring manager or a technical person who handles the interviewing, what certification is more value or more "weight" to you...? Cheers, Thomas N.
