Has anyone heard of the "link speed divided by 800 rule?" for determing MTU's. While going through the Global Knowledge VOIP class, they mention the following
Small, medium, and large sites use 80, 160, and 320 byte fragment sizes respectively, based on the link speed divided by 800 rule. This fragmentation is configured with the ip mtu command on the serial interface. Use FRF.12 for data fragmentation instead, if it is available in your IOS release. I was just wondering if someone could define it briefly.
