Richard, How do you know that the 2924 is "timing out clients"? Typically, once a switch gets the initial handshake with a client, it doesn't have timeouts of any kind for client ports. Are you saying that applications are failing and you assume its the switch or are you actually seeing link lights on the switch going on and off?
As to your question, the newer versions of the catalyst 2924XL support viewing information via http and is probably the easiest way to see the info (ip http server), but I'm not at all sure that the switch is a likely culprit for application timeouts. If you can describe exactly what is happening (i.e. apps used, protocols used, symptoms, etc) and what you've looked at so far more assistance could be given.
