TCP/IP doesn't use a frame type per se. Frame types are set at the Data Link Layer (Layer 2). For example TCP/IP can run over Token Ring (802.5), FDDI, Fast Ethernet, etc etc, and all of these Link Layer topologies each have their own frame type.
