Something worse than failing the written! I was scheduled to take the CCIE written on September the 29th and had just taken a Global Knowledge class the previous week and had been reviewing all the source material I could get my hands on to study for the past month(s). I had scheduled my test through Prometric's registration and had my confirmation number. I appeared at the appointed place and time, as well as another test taker.
We waited over an hour and no one showed up to give the test. I had previously made reservations for a 7-day Mexican cruse, which departed from Long Beach the next day as well as two weeks of vacation to follow b a reward for my wife who had been previously putting up with many evenings and weekends of unaccompanied companionship while I studied. This put me way back as I had crammed my brain to the brim with the many items of minutia required to pass this test. However, today I passed the written, on my first attempt, and in many ways this is due to the observed discussions and suggestions from this list. Now I have arrived at what someone previously made the analogy of this point as being like the base camp for the attempt to scale the summit; the CCIE one day Lab. We are high up but the most difficult part lies ahead. Now to assemble a Lab and take some more formal CCIE trainingb&. Thanks to hard study, my wife's understanding, and this group, sweet success!
