I have a question for those security gurus out there Can the SNMP community string be encrypted in MD5? At the moment, I can only encrypt the SNMP community with DES which is kinda weak. I can crack DES password on my Pentium with relative ease. MD5 can be cracked also but a lot harder (if it is not a dictionary password, in that case it takes about 2 mins to crack an MD5 password).
