I'd like to use ACL's on a 2948 G-L3 switch. Cisco states that you cannot put extended access lists on physical interfaces, see below. I need the access list security. Do extended access lists work on logical VLAN interfaces?
( http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/473/29.html ) In release 12.0(7)W5(15d), the Catalyst 2948G-L3 does not support: a.. Data-plane (security) access-control lists (ACLs) on any interfaces (in other words, user data traffic cannot be restricted using input or output access lists on the router interfaces) In Cisco's network model they say access lists should be used at the disrtibution layer only and they classify the 2948 G-L3 as a distribution layer switch/router. How could they then not support ACL's on this $10K switch/router. To say the least i'm very frustrated. thanx sam sneed Message Posted at: http://www.groupstudy.com/form/read.php?f=7&i=26858&t=26858 -------------------------------------------------- FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
