Hello Pierre,

You are correct, the Simline 2 does not support SPID's but it will work
perfectly when you select the switch type on your router to NET3 which
actually emulates the basic call control of the newer ETSI Euro ISDN
network.

The Simline 2 supports ETSI Euro ISDN and is pre-configured for the latest
numbering plan which is 'single number'. To call port 2 from port 1 you
dial 2222 for the first bearer (B) channel and then 2222 again for the
second bearer channel. If you want to dial from port 2 to port 1 you simply
dial 1111 twice. These default numbers can be changed through the Simline
software allowing any number up to 30 digits to be entered for each bearer
channel if you would like to make it more realistic.

Once you have changed the protocol supported on your router you may wish to
monitor the signaling which can be done via the PC host used with the
Simline 2 by clicking on trace and entering a name if you wish to record
the file or clicking cancel if you just wish to look without recording.

I hope that this helps to get you going, please do not hesitate to call or
e-mail if you have any more questions.

Thanks and regards,

Paul Ferguson

I am using the Slimline 2 ISDN simulator from PDS technologies.

I cannot get the SPID to be accepted. (See below)

ISDN BRI0 interface
        dsl 0, interface ISDN Switchtype = basic-5ess
    Layer 1 Status:
        ACTIVE
    Layer 2 Status:
        TEI = 64, Ces = 1, SAPI = 0, State = MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHE
        TEI 64, ces = 1, state = 4(await init)
spid1 configured, no LDN, spid1 sent, spid1 NOT valid

I have not modifed the default phone numbers 1111 and 2222 configured on
Slimline

Below are my configs for bri0
interface BRI0
 ip address 10.0.0.1 255.255.255.0
 encapsulation ppp
 no ip route-cache
 no ip mroute-cache
 dialer map ip 10.0.0.2 1111
 dialer-group 1
 isdn switch-type basic-5ess
 isdn spid1 2222

Is there a default LDN number I have to configure?

Pierre-Alex
