Well, I figured it out. I was waiting for some type of prompt to let me know when to start the file transfer and then figured that I had three seconds to start it. Apparently, as soon as you hit the "Enter" key to execute the " switch: copy xmodem: flash:c3500XL-c3h2s-mz.120-5.3.WC.1.bin" command, you have about three seconds to start the file transfer. Sorry for the false alarm.
