I find that if I write things down as I discover them I remember them better. I have a binder with separators, each separator is a different topic. As I find a solution to different things, I write them down immediately so that I remember them. It is also nice if you forget something, you just go to the OSPF tab, for example, and see if you have run across it before. Just my 2 cents.
