Actually, Token Ring doesn't have to make your lap more expensive. If you look on eBay, you will many times see the 2500 TR routers less expensive than the 2500 Ethernet routers, and the only difference is the LAN. If you like I did ended up with five 2500's, the money you can save by buying two of them as Token Ring routers, you can spend to get a cheap used MAU.
