Heh... well, when I posted earlier I was being rushed out to a movie =)

You're correct as there are different models of the 2900XLs.  My point was
that the 2900XLs don't offer 10Mb ethernet ports.... only FastEthernet
(which as we know can be used at 10Mb)

It is strange that the port number would be 12 more than the interface
designation (i.e. fas0/1).  If this were a 12 port switch, I could see that
happening, as you said, for some reason that only the designers at Cisco are
aware of =)
