I'm sure someone will respond with a much detailed response, but in the meantime, know that secret clearance is a very expensive, time consuming process at the very least. Don't think it's like a Cisco cert that you can just study or apply for. Usually people already have it from past jobs, military experience, etc. Sponsorship by your employer is generally required to attain TS. If a job description asks for TS clearance and you don't have it, don't waste your time applying.
