today). However in my studying (and since I only have "current" CCIE study
materials and practice exams) I think I may be ready to take the "current"
written. If I were to take and pass the current written, then a few days
later take the beta and not pass, would that discount my passing of the
current written and screw me out of proceeding to the lab?

Same thing in reverse: If I took the beta first and passed (but didn't find
out until 6-8 weeks later) then a week later took the current written and
didn't pass, would I still be allowed to proceed to the lab?

Sounds like a stupid question, but it's starting to concern me. I've tried
to he realistic in studying for the beta and really only cover stuff that's
on the current (routing protocols, etc), but I have to also say that I've
spent more time brushing up on X.25 and DECnet and Appletalk than I have
trying to get up to speed on MPLS, IPv6, etc... So I'd hate to take the
written on Monday (let's say) and pass then not pass the beta on Friday and
that screw me from going on to the lab.

TIA for any advice,
Mike W.
