dear all, I have connected my Cisco DMS to AccessServer 5350 .
Whenever I made a call using Access Server , either it is answered or not answered , the DMS shows the call being answered. however it is not being answered. Scenario I wanted to pose a question to you guys that is really bugging me. Our cisco gateway, ip: 208.215.131.66, is an AS5350. When configuring this gateway to work with clients, I have encountered the following scenaro: 1. We establish a "dial-peer voice XX voip" 2. I attempt to send calls on a Span (port) 0-7. 3. If there is not a "dial-peer voice XX pots" with the span (port) I am trying to originate the calls on defined in the box, my call is answered by a FAX tone no matter what digits I send on that span. This is easily provable: Currently, I have created "dial-peer voice 32 pots" which is associated with "port 3/7:4". I also gave it "destination-pattern 889." which I chose because I was able to send calls on another span with a similar destination pattern. If I place a call from my DMS on span 7, sending the digits 01185523212004, I will see the following results from the "show call hist voice brief" command: ----------------------------------------- 101E : 243380908hs.24447 +3274 +3348 pid:32 Answer 889. dur 00:00:00 tx:457/1020 rx:683/21340 10 (normal call clearing.) Telephony 3/7:4:24447: tx:25030/4000/0ms g729r8 noise:0dBm acom:0dBm 101E : 243381316hs.24448 +2866 +2940 pid:31 Originate 11001185523212004 dur 00:00:00 tx:683/13432 rx:458/8948 10 (normal call clearing.) IP 64.35.172.42:16666 rtt:48ms pl:4000/0ms lost:1/1/0 delay:60/60/80ms g729r8 ------------------------------------------ As you can see from the above, it appears that first the call hits dial-peer 32 (And sends an ANSWER -> as a side note this may have something to do with our false answer supervison problem). After hitting dial-peer 32, it proceeds to find a match against dial peer 31. My call rings, and is answered by the far end. Now, if I SHUTDOWN "dial-peer voice 32 pots" and I place the same call from the DMS, my call is immediatly answered by a FAX TONE, and when I give the same "show call hist voice brief" command, I get no new data, it appears as if I never made the call. This is very perplexing as I understand that it is necessary to have a "dial-peer voice XX voip" on one gateway and a "dial-peer voice XX pots" on the far end gateway. What I do NOT understand is why it is necessary to have both a VOIP and a POTS dial-peer on our gateway for me to be able to originate calls to a specific span. Please advise on this. hasan --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Shopping - Mother's Day is May 12th!
